Double or Nothing

A term used to describe a bet that pays out the amount the player originally placed.

Down Card

This term is given to the card that the dealer deals themself, which is face down.

Heads Up

A term which is given when there’s only one player playing at the Blackjack table.

Hit

The term used to request another card to your hand.

Natural

Another term used to describe when a two-card hand is worth 21 and is automatically a winning hand.

Pat

A term used to describe an unbusted hand that’s worth at least a total of 17, and the player opts to not request any additional cards.

Soft Hand

A term used to describe a hand that contains one or more aces.

Split Hand

This is a term that’s used when the first two cards dealt are of the same value, and the holder decides to split the hand into two separate hands.
