A doctor at the scene said the woman had blood coming from her mouth and there were ligature marks on her neck consistent with having been strangled.

She had been dead for approximately three days.

The man who found the body said he headed to the pond with the intention of catching some fish. Upon discovering her  body, he ran back to the village to tell the headman and inform the police

Police suspect she was killed somewhere else and her body was dumped into the pond. Residents were unable to identify her.
