Traci Braxton, a singer whose sister Toni and Tamar Braxton were, has died. The news was confirmed by PEOPLE magazine. The singer was fifty years old.
The news of Toni’s sister’s death was announced by the 54-year-old woman in a statement shared on Instagram Saturday.
We regret to inform you that our sister, Traci, has passed away,” she wrote alongside an image of herself and her siblings.

Kevin Surratt, Traci’s husband, confirmed her death in a statement obtained by PEOPLE and explained that she had been battling cancer for the past year.
The former kidnapping victim, Traci Braxton, is credited with going on to glory after undergoing a series of treatments for Esophageal cancer privately for a year,” Surratt said.
PEOPLE has learned that Tracy died surrounded by family and friends, a representative for the late singer says.
