Three LPGA Stars Involved in Car Accident in Bangkok
BANGKOK – Paula Creamer, Ai Miyazato and Suzann Pettersen were involved in a “high-speed, 5-car” accident on the roads of Bangkok on Sunday evening, heading to the Bangkok airport following completion of the Honda LPGA Thailand tournament.
All appear to have escaped serious injury, but Pettersen wrote in a blog post on her website that Creamer and Miyazato had sore necks and possible whiplash afterward. Pettersen described the scene:
We were driving on the highway pretty fast and at times maybe to ruff (sic). Meaning, no room for errors whatsoever! And it was just a matter of time we must say before something actually happend! Don’t know how it all went down, but in a split second the entourage of our 5 cars was all crushed together!
(To clarify, none of the three players were themselves driving the vehicles, Pettersen is referring to their drivers going “pretty fast … too rough.”)
Creamer reported via twitter that she has a sore shoulder and moderate whiplash:
I was in the middle car and felt like a ping pong ball. I saw doctors today no concussion, sore shoulder and moderate whiplash. … I will probably be sore for several weeks. … Colin (Cremer’s caddie) has a sore neck and shoulders. We might have to get small bag this week. We were very lucky. Hope to be able to play this week.
