McDonald’s; Shooting Kills 19-Year-Old Near a McDonald’s in Hempstead

(CTN News) _ HEMPSTEAD, Long Island (WABC) — Officials report that a 19-year-old man was shot and killed near a McDonald’s on Long Island Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, officers responded just before 4 p.m. As a result of a report that multiple shots were fired from the parking lot of a McDonald’s located at 340 Peninsula Blvd in Hempstead, we responded to the call.

A 19-year-old victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the hospital. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

According to the police, the victim was hanging around the parking lot when a group of unidentified individuals approached him and opened fire on him.

The police believe the shooting was targeted, but they don’t know if it was gang-related just yet, as it’s still too early to tell.

As of yet, no arrests have been made as a result of this investigation.

The incident happened around the time students would have been getting out of school. Some concerned parents of students who go to the nearby Hempstead High School say it is a tradition for students to go to McDonald’s after they get out of class.

Hempstead parent Unique Redd said, “It should be a safe place for our kids to have food after school and to go home, after they walk home from school.

This is a place that they come to get food after school and to go home,” he said. The number of guns on the street is too high.

As a result of the incident, the police are investigating it.
