(CTN News) – The government is encouraging people to wear yellow on Sunday in commemoration of HM the King’s 72nd birthday, as well as participate in events commemorating the occasion throughout the month.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin posted a statement on X, encouraging the public to wear yellow shirts to demonstrate their support for His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua on his sixth cycle birthday.

Mr Srettha stated that the main event will take place on Sunday and Monday at Sanam Luang in Phra Nakhon district from 6 a.m. to 7.19 p.m., with provincial activities organised by administrative organisations.

Nationwide Events to Mark HM the King’s Special Day

According to Interior Ministry spokesman Traisuree Taisaranakul, all provinces in the country will hold birthday celebrations for HM the King this month.

The event, titled “The Breath of the Land,” will take place at Chang Arena in Buri Ram’s Muang area from Sunday to Tuesday. It will feature 70 performers and actresses and 250 musicians.

Ms Traisuree also announced that Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, would perform as a saxophone in the musical.

The event at Chang Arena is free, and the musical will begin each day at 6 p.m., she explained.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Pirapan Salirathavibhaga recently presided over the inauguration ceremony for the “justice station” project, which was launched on HM the King’s birthday.

As part of the scheme, 72 “justice stations” have been established at United Thai Party offices across the country to assist residents who are experiencing problems with public services.
