Middle School Teacher Arrested Over Molesting a Girl for 8 Years

Police have arrested a middle school teacher accused of sexually abusing a schoolgirl for eight years. He was arrested in Thailand’s Nakhon Sawan province.

Police arrested Mr. Nimit Khonpraneet outside a restaurant in the northern province on Wednesday morning.

Mr. Nimit, a physical education teacher at a middle school in Kamphaeng Phet province, was wanted on an arrest warrant issued by the Criminal Court on Feb 26 this year.

He was wanted for denying parental care to a child under the age of 15 years. The charges against him include sexually abusing a child under the age of 15 who was not his wife, as well as other charges.

According to Police, the victim now 21, turned to the police after the middle school teacher tried to blackmail her with sexual images.

Just a Humble Middle School Student

According to the police investigation, the abuse started when the victim was in grade eight. Following the death of her mother in a road accident, the girl was struggling through a difficult time. Her grandmother was taking care of her.

A police report claims that Mr. Nimit, who taught physical education at the middle school, offered to help her take care of her grandmother.

Mr. Nimit told the girl she could call him father. As soon as he gained her trust, he abused her sexually and filmed the abuse. He also warned her not to tell anyone.

For almost eight years, he sexually abused the young student using the filmed footage as blackmail. Saying he would make the video public for all her friends and family to see.

Once the humble middle school student got pregnant, he had her have an abortion, police said.

Move to Bangkok

When the victim moved to Bangkok to stay with her aunt last year, the middle school teacher tried to contact her. He feared she was trying to distance herself from him.

In January, he learned she was planning to visit her family in Kamphaeng Phet. Upon meeting her, he threatened her with a knife, coerced her into sex, and recorded what happened.

Mr. Nimit threatened to release their sex video clips if she did not return to Kamphaeng Phet, the victim told police.

Finally, the victim decided to tell her relatives about Mr. Nimit. The family reported him to the police. Interrogation of the suspect was conducted at the Central Investigation Bureau.
