Ivanka Trump Says She Won't Get Involved In Politics After Her Father Announces His Candidacy

(CTN News) – After her father announced another run for the presidency on Tuesday, Ivanka Trump announced she would not be involved in former President Donald Trump’s campaign.

“I have a great deal of affection for my father. The purpose of this time around is to prioritize the needs of my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. Trump did not attend Tuesday night’s event and has no intention of becoming involved in politics.

While I will always love and support my father, I will do so outside of the political arena in the future. Thank you for allowing me to serve the American people, and I will always be proud of many of the accomplishments of our Administration.”

She made this statement in response to a shift in the dynamic of the Trump family and a division over the former president’s political plans. Last week, CNN reported that Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner would not be campaigning for Donald Trump.

A person familiar with Ivanka’s thinking previously told CNN that she would never return to that life. As far as she is concerned, this is not something that would serve her or her family at this time.”

According to CNN, Ivanka has been “done” with Washington “since the day she left” and that “has not changed.”

In March 2017, Ivanka Trump became a full-time advisor to the president after informally advising her father during the first two months of his presidency.

Despite her lack of government experience, her supporters noted her father ran a campaign focused on his record as a businessman. This campaign focused on the message that he was an outsider who took an unconventional approach to governance.

While it was unusual for a president’s child to serve an administration, Trump was accustomed to playing that role, having served as the trusted adviser of her father throughout her young adulthood, through her time at the Trump Organization, and ultimately, during the 2016 presidential campaign.

What denomination is Ivanka Trump?

She converted to Judaism in 2009 and, following her father’s inauguration into the White House, she became the first Jewish member of an American first family.
