An Earthquake Of 6.1 Magnitude Hits Parts Of Punjab & KPK In Pakistan

(CTN News) – Geo News reported that a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday morning.

Among other places, Islamabad, Multan, Bhakkar, Phalia, Peshawar, Malakand, Swat, Mianwali, Pakpattan, and Buner felt tremors.

During the ongoing week, tremors have been felt in different parts of the two provinces for the third time. Two earthquakes struck Rawalpindi, the federal capital, and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department’s National Seismic Monitoring Centre Report, the earthquake measured 6.1 on the Richter Scale.

 In Afghanistan, its epicentre was southwest of Khost, at a depth of 44km.

In the immediate aftermath of the earthquake, people reportedly rushed out of their homes while reciting Kalima and other Quranic verses. However, no immediate loss of life or property was reported.
