TRANG – Days after a pickup truck collided with a train in Chiang Mai, Killing 7, another pickup truck in Trang has run into the side of a train.  The pickup collided with a train that was passing through a crossing on a road in Muang district, causing the locomotive to disconnect from the carriage behind it and block the line.

The train had just entered the crossing when the pickup driven by Songyuth Chimrueng, 34, rammed into it around noon. His vehicle struck the train between the locomotive and the first carriage, the Bangkok Post reported.

Mr Songyuth who was knocked unconscious from the collision was rushed to hospital and reported to be in a stable condition, he suffered two broken legs.

A witness to the accident, Miss Linda Chotchuang, said the pickup truck was traveling very fast as it approached the crossing and then hit the train.

Days earlier in Trang Kritsana Buaboon a 20-year-old plumbing contractor was seriously injured when he drove his pickup truck through an unguarded railroad crossing and was struck by a Trang-bound train in Huay Yot district.
