Passenger Bus Crashes Injuring 15 in Northeastern Thailand

CHAIYAPHUM – A chartered passenger bus has overturned in the Northeastern Province of Chaiyapum in the Chatturat district on Monday morning, injuring 15 passengers and the driver.

Pol Capt Yothin Dueanklang said the driver of the bus, travelling from Bangkok to Nong Bua Lam Phu, lost control and ran off the road then flipping onto it’s side at about 5.40am.

It was carrying 30 passengers; 15 were hurt. Driver Samart Chaichum was seriously injured.

All were taken to Chatturat Hospital. The other passengers were waiting for the Sawaengwong Tour Co to send another bus to take them to their destination.

Passenger Theerapat Klapchai said the bus left Bangkok around midnight. He and other passengers had felt the bus veer suddenly across the road, causing shouts of alarm, before it overturned.
