Nineteen Injured after Passenger Bus Rams into Truck and Overturns
NAKHON RATCHASIMA – Nineteen people have been injured after an inter-provincial passenger bus rear-ended an 18-wheel trailer truck and overturned in Nakhon Ratchasima on Saturday morning.
The air-conditioned bus, traveling from Bangkok to Roi Et province, rammed into the trailer truck, which was struck in heavy traffic on Mittraparb Road. The traffic jam had been caused by another road accident at a nearby intersection, Pol Lt Col Pradit Chompa, told the Bangkok Post.
The impact of the crash caused the bus to flip over on its side on the road. Nineteen passengers were injured and were rushed to a nearby hospital.
Police plan to question the driver and passengers upon their release from hospital to find out the cause of the crash, police believe speed was a key factor of the accident.
