Driver Killed, Eight Passengers Injured after Van Crashes in Northeastern Thailand
NAKHON RATCHASIMA – A passenger van driver was killed and his eight passengers were severely injured in the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima early on Monday when the vehicle swerved off the road and flipped.
Pak Thong Chai district police were called to the scene on Highway 24 in Tambon Takhu at 4.54am.
Rescuers using metal cutters freed the passengers trapped inside and removed the body of driver Sansern Sirikamnerd, 37.
At press time, police had been unable to interview the survivors about what happened, officials believe excessive speed may have been a determining factor in the accident.
