71 Year-Old Swiss Man Killed after a Falling from a Building in Bangkok

BANGKOK – A 71 year-old Swiss man was killed after a fall from a building in Min Buri district of Bangkok on Sunday morning. It was believed he had taken his own life, according to media reports.

Pol Maj Susirichok Tanyanon, Daniel Scharer, a Swiss national, lying dead face down on the hood of a Toyota Camry.

A police investigation revealed that the man had was staying in a room on the 8th floor. The window of the room was left open. There were no traces of a struggle, and the room had not been ransacked.

Witnesses said the Swiss man had stayed alone in the room for four years and apparently had no job. It was initially suspected that the man had suffered from depression.

Police said his body would be sent for an autopsy and an investigation would continue to determine the exact cause of his death.

The Swiss embassy in Bangkok would be informed of the incident, Police are investigating.
