IDIOM – An idiom is an expression whose meaning is not what it reads as. In an idiom, the meaning of the sentence changes. The idiom kick the bucket does not translate literally to kicking a bucket, it means something very different. The idiom, kick the bucket, means to die. So instead of saying he died, we can say he kicked the bucket.
