If you enjoy wearing something nice for a special occasion, you probably enjoy dressing up. Do you know how to use the phrasal verb ‘dress up’?

To ‘dress up’ can mean to wear your best clothes for a special occasion.

It’s a good idea to dress up for the dinner so you won’t look out of place!

They love dressing up so they go shopping quite often.

You can also ‘dress up’ by putting on special clothes in order to change your appearance. For example, at a fancy dress party.

He dressed up as a clown for the fancy dress party.
