Whether you are a U.S. citizen or a foreign national, Atlanta is the perfect place to start a business. Not only is Atlanta home to the busiest airport in the entire world, but it is truly a multicultural city that is growing by leaps and bounds year after year.

Entrepreneurs absolutely love Atlanta for a number of reasons, but mostly because of the ease at which they can form and operate an LLC, or Limited Liability Company. Are you looking for an entrepreneur’s Mecca? If you’ve come to Atlanta, you’ve come to the right place. Here are a few reasons why.

Several Highly Ranked Universities

Whether you are considering a DBA or thinking about starting an LLC in Georgia, Atlanta comes to mind because of the abundance of highly qualified professionals you can draw from who have graduated from some of the nation’s leading universities.

Finding top talent anywhere can be rough, but when you consider that Atlanta is home to Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia State University and Emory University, you can have your pick of highly qualified graduates within your industry.

Cost of Living Commensurate to Wages

No matter where you go, the cost of living can be quite high. Atlanta happens to be one of the nation’s cities where the cost of living is fairly relative to wages. This is a super plus for an LLC in Georgia because there is no state minimum wage!

Where some states like California, Oregon and Washington have state minimums almost twice that of the Federal minimum, Georgia employers are only required to pay the current Federal minimum wage. This, in itself, is attractive to any LLC in Georgia that will employ hourly workers. Workers are appeased because the cost of living is relatively commensurate to wages unlike those states with higher minimums. It’s odd, but true.

A Welcoming Atmosphere to Foreign Nationals

While there are Federal guidelines for foreign nationals doing business in the United States, what many foreign nationals have found is that Atlanta is extremely welcoming to world cultures. A huge part of this is due to the number of foreign nationals who travel through the city’s airport and also the huge number of foreign students attending universities there.

Unlike so many areas that don’t see an influx of other cultures, it is a good assumption to believe that literally every nation on earth is represented there within the student population. Just a quick look at all the ethnic grocery stores and restaurants will give you a clue to the multicultural diversity of the nation’s 37th largest city by population.

There are so many other reasons why Atlanta appeals to entrepreneurs looking to start a business, including moderate winters unlike cities to the north. Yes, it does snow a bit in Atlanta, but you aren’t likely to see blizzards that shut northern companies down almost every year.

It can get hot in July and August, but not has hot and humid as cities to the south. All in all, if you are looking for an entrepreneur’s Mecca, Atlanta would be a great city to make your A list. Bear in mind that at least 16 of Fortune 500s biggest companies are based in Atlanta, and you’ll understand why!
