Cost of Living Commensurate to Wages
No matter where you go, the cost of living can be quite high. Atlanta happens to be one of the nation’s cities where the cost of living is fairly relative to wages. This is a super plus for an LLC in Georgia because there is no state minimum wage!
Where some states like California, Oregon and Washington have state minimums almost twice that of the Federal minimum, Georgia employers are only required to pay the current Federal minimum wage. A huge part of this is due to the number of foreign nationals who travel through the city’s airport and also the huge number of foreign students attending universities there.
Unlike so many areas that don’t see an influx of other cultures, it is a good assumption to believe that literally every nation on earth is represented there within the student population. Just a quick look at all the ethnic grocery stores and restaurants will give you a clue to the multicultural diversity of the nation’s 37th largest city by population.
There are so many other reasons why Atlanta appeals to entrepreneurs looking to start a business, including moderate winters unlike cities to the north. Yes, it does snow a bit in Atlanta, but you aren’t likely to see blizzards that shut northern companies down almost every year.
It can get hot in July and August, but not has hot and humid as cities to the south. All in all, if you are looking for an entrepreneur’s Mecca, Atlanta would be a great city to make your A list.
