Eating fish is recommended for diabetes patients due to its high nutrition

CHIANG RAI – The Office of Disease Prevention and Control 5 (Nakhon Ratchasima) reports that diabetes is still regarded as a major health problem among Thai people, and its incidence is known to be directly related to food consumption.

Diabetes patients have high blood sugar levels and they must control their eating habits and body weight.

Eating fish is recommended for diabetes patients due to its high nutrition, absence of bad cholesterol, and affordability, because fish is a low cholesterol food, easily digestible, and it contains high-quality protein for bodily health and brain power.

Omega-3 fatty acids help reduce the possibility of ‘coronary thrombosis’ which is the cause of diabetes. Omega-3 is frequently found in freshwater fish and sea-fish.

However, cooking fish by frying is not recommended while steamed or baked fish should be eaten everyday or at least twice per week.
