National Health Security Office Urges Thai Nationals to Get Influenza (Flu) Vaccination

CHIANG RAI – The National Health Security Office (NHSO) is calling upon Thai nationals covered by any healthcare benefits to get a seasonal influenza vaccination free of charge at public or private hospitals participating in the national healthcare scheme until 31 August 2018.

Thai nationals covered by healthcare packages can be vaccinated against influenza free of charge at hospitals during 1 June and 31 August 2018.

Those under certain conditions are specifically encouraged to get vaccinated, including women having been pregnant for more than four months, children aged from six months to two years, persons with chronic diseases including cancer patients given chemotherapy, persons over 65 years old, persons with intellectual disabilities, Thalassemia patients, persons with a weak immune system including HIV patients with symptoms and those weighing more than 100 kilograms or having more than 35 BMI.

The provided vaccines will protect against A N1N1, A N3N2, and Type-B influenza viruses.
