(CTN NEWS) – This week marks the return of the Eurovision 2023 Song Contest, which is the most renowned singing contest in Europe.
For those who are not familiar with the competition, each European nation submits one original song to be performed live by a band or performer from that nation.
To choose a winner, the participating nations voted for the music of the other nations. The contest has been one of the longest-running yearly, international televised music competitions since 1956.
Typically, the nation where the previous year’s victor took first place hosts the competition. Ukraine, who won the right to host in 2022, won’t do so because it conflicted with Russia.
Liverpool, United Kingdom, will host the competition instead in 2023.
Alesha Dixon (Australia’s Got Talent), Julia Sanina (The X Factor Ukraine), and Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso) will host the semifinals. Graham Norton (The Graham Norton Show) will join the three for the final.
So, let’s dive in and find out where to watch Eurovision 2023.
