Spotify Is Unavailable To Users: Access Issues Are Widespread

Users reported problems accessing the Spotify app and website on Tuesday. Approximately an hour and a half later, it seemed that the service was functioning normally again.

Spotify users began complaining about the service around 1:10 p.m. ET, according to the monitoring website DownDetector.com. The cause of the problem was not immediately known. The issues reported in the United States were concentrated in New York and Los Angeles.

Spotify hit by widespread technical problems

The users encountered an error stating that their username and password were incorrect. When Spotify users tried to launch songs on the company’s site, another message appeared, saying, “We’re all mixed up.”. Please try again later. On Spotify’s mobile app, users saw a message saying, “You’ve been logged out.”. Please log in again.

“Something’s not quite right. We’re looking into it. Thank you for your reports!” Spotify Status tweeted at 1:22 p.m. ET. About an hour later, Spotify Status tweeted: “Everything’s looking much better now! Give @SpotifyCares a shout if you still need assistance.”.”

According to Spotify, many customers were having problems logging in and reaching customer support.

Tuesday, Discord, the chat, voice, and video-communications service, also experienced several hours of message failures.

About Spotify

Streaming service Spotify is the industry’s biggest in terms of both music and audio content. According to its most recent report as of the middle of 2021, the company reported 406 million monthly active users (which included 180 million paid subscribers). Spotify has been in the news recently due to its exclusive licensing deal with Joe Rogan’s podcast, which has included misinformation about COVID and instances of Rogan using the N-word (episodes that Spotify has since removed).
