Oscar Nominations 2023: How To Watch Live

(CTN News) – Here’s what you need to know about awards season. Oscar nominations for 2023 are coming, and Vanity Fair has already made its foolproof predictions, but the Academy will officially decide on Tuesday, January 24.

A live broadcast from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater at 8:30 a.m. Eastern/5:30 p.m. After the first round, the second round follows roughly 10 minutes later.

The second announcement will reveal the winning picture, directing, and acting categories.

Oscar Nominations.com, Oscars.org, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, ABC’s Good Morning America, ABC News Live, and Disney+ will broadcast live. Embedded below:

There are a lot of mysteries. Will Andrea Riseborough’s grassroots campaign for To Leslie get her a best-actress nomination?

Could Michelle Williams pull a Kate Winslet by sneaking into the supporting category for The Fabelmans despite her nomination as a lead? Are they ready for a field-leading haul?

This year’s host has been decided.

It’s Jimmy Kimmel’s third time hosting the Oscar Nominations.

During 2017, when Moonlight was mistakenly announced as the top picture, he was the emcee to smooth things over—and poke fun at the gaffe—the following year.

This will be Kimmel’s third stint on the show, one year after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscar Nominations.

In November, he told Extra, “It’s got to come up somehow.” He added, “I don’t want to make light of it because comedians don’t do that.”

Comedians are mad about it… For a group that finds everything funny, it’s not funny, you know? But you’ve got to deal with it. The next year, when I hosted the Oscar Nominations, we had to mention the wrong winner.”

There’s a lot of mystery. Are Andrea Risborough’s grassroots efforts for To Leslie able to help her win for leading actress? Could Michelle Williams pull a Kate Winslet and sneak into the supporting category for The Fable mans despite the fact that she has been nominated as a lead all season long?

Would Everything Everywhere All At Once benefit from a field-leading haul?

It has been decided who will host this year’s telecast.

It will be Jimmy Kimmel’s third time in charge of the Academy Awards.

He hosted the awards in 2017, the year La La Land was mistakenly announced as the best-picture winner over Moonlight, and returned in 2018 to smooth things over.

A year after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars, Kimmel’s third stint comes a full year after the incident.

He told Extra last November that it had to come up in some way. It wasn’t light for comedians, so I didn’t want to make light of it.

It’s one of those things that, for a group of people who find everything funny, it’s, like, not funny, you know? Of course, you need to deal with it. When the wrong winner was Oscar Nominations read one year when I hosted the Oscars, we had to mention it the next year.”

“I think one of the drawbacks of having three hosts was that it wasn’t clear who should go out there and handle it,” Kimmel said, comparing himself to last year’s trio of hosts—Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer, and Regina Hall.

“Either hosting the Oscars for a third time is a wonderful honor or a trap.”
