Mark Ruffalo took to his social media account to express his condolences to those ‘innocent people’ affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine on Thursday. All those trapped in the midst of ‘violence and destruction’ received his best wishes. The Russian military has entered northern Ukraine, and several reports claim that 18 people have been killed in an attack near Odesa, Ukraine.

Taking to social media, the Hulk actor sent his best wishes to those ‘innocent’ individuals caught up in the war. The actor is often known for expressing his opinions and advocating for humanitarian causes, and on Thursday he did so again. Mark Ruffalo’s tweet read, “Sending love and good prayers to all innocent people of Ukraine and Russia and Europe who are caught up in this sad and corrosive moment of asymmetrical violence and destruction, especially the young people. You have done nothing to deserve this perversion and obscene spectacle.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine on Thursday, February 24, and took control of two villages in the east of the country. Before the invasion, he said the conflict between the two countries was ‘inevitable’ and the military activity was to demilitarize Ukraine. The Indian Embassy in Kyiv issued an advisory for Indians in Ukraine after the country’s government declared martial law, which makes traveling difficult. It acknowledged this and announced that it was contacting local establishments to assist those students stranded in Kyiv.
