The unique “Twilight Concert” project aims to promote quality orchestral music performed by CYO, by performing challenging repertoires varying from classical music to films scores and by offering a stage to CYO musicians to work with professional musicians from Bangkok and abroad.

The purposes of the Twilight Concert project are to increase the performance standards of CYO and to give its members opportunities to gain valuable experience by working with visiting guest musicians. In addition, the project hopes to bring quality musical culture to the Chiang Rai community.

The project was designed to be an annual outdoor performance by CYO during the winter season. The “Twilight Concert” was first organized in 2009 at Villa Darakorn’s botanical garden, initiated by the owners of Villa Darakorn, KhunSuphavit andKhunPasinee Piamphongsant, who joined efforts with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra’s co-founding member, KhunWitaya Tumornsoontorn, together with KhunParamet, to run the project on a volunteer basis.

The last six“Twilight Concerts” were a big success with an average of 350 guests from Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai and Bangkok. Thais and foreigners were impressed by the quality of the performances. The renowned English composer and soloist Richard Harvey in particular has contributed to the development of CYO as a visiting artist, and was invited to be conductor and soloist at the first two concerts.

The seventh annual “Twilight Concert” has arrived In Remembrance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, performed by the combined famous british artist Richard Harvey , talents of CYO, members of Chulalongkorn Chamber.

The concert will feature guest conductor Sirowut Srinitedwatin (conductor of the “Chulalongkorn Chamber”),alongside CYO’s permanent Music Director and conductor,Paramet Lerdkasem.

Richard Harvey (Soloist)

Richard Harvey recently scored the music for Mark Osborne’s ‘The Little Prince’ (2015/16) with long term collaborator and Hollywood legend Hans Zimmer. Alongside a very proactive writing output over the last few years, he is perhaps otherwise best known for his work on The Da Vinci Code (2006), Eichmann (2007), Interstellar (2014), Les deux mondes (2007), Arabian Nights (2000). He is a frequent collaborator with Hans Zimmer and won a British Academy Award for his collaborative effort with Elvis Costello on Alan Bleasdale’s G.B.H. (1991). He is also an important presence in the Thai film industry, composing for epic Legend of King Naresuan: Hostage of Hongsawadi (2007).

Sirowut Srinitedwatin (conductor of the “Chulalongkorn Chamber”)
The manager of Chulalongkorn Symphony Orchestra. He is in charge of all activities and also be the CU Chamber’s conductor.

Paramet Lerdkasem(CYO Music Director)
Founded Chiangrai Youth Orchestra and Chiangrai Violin Club 15 years ago. He has instructed hundreds of young musicians on string instruments. He is an important figure in the classical music scene in Chiang Rai

Mashima Meebamroong(Kimiko) (vocalist)
This versatile singer and actress’s capabilities span a repertoire which varies to suite audiences of all ages, covering Thai pop songs of all periods to modern pop standards from the 70s onwards, Jazzthe world of Musicals (which is her favourite genre), as well as classical tunes.She recently won the first prize of the 1st Thailand Musical Singing Competition(2014), and was invited to sing solo for several concerts with Dr. Sukree Foundation Orchestra, YES Academy Music Camp Orchestra, as well as singingin the professional production of Thai Musical “Cixi” in the understudy role of Jiashun Empress,and in “Ghost Opera The Musical.” She has also been invited to perform Thai classical and Contemporary Dance performances for prestigious events abroad to promote Thailand’s arts and culture on several occasions. Mashima is currently studying music(voice major) at Faculty of Applied Fine Arts, Chulalongkorn University.

Sirikorn Kaewprain (Pianist)
Sirikorn graduated Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Chiang Mai University. She started playing piano at the age of 6 and completed Trinity College London Grade 8 Piano in 2010. She is a Piano teacher of CYO, she is skilled in her method of teaching and she understands the needs of her students. She participated in the concert “Falling In My Heart” and “The Memory Of King Bhumibol at Singha Park”.
