According to Deadline, the show will be directed by Ridley Scott, who directed the original film in 1982. Apparently, Scott has expressed interest in directing a few episodes of the series, but there has been no official confirmation of that. According to reports, Amazon Studios has begun development on the series, which means making the next installment will be much faster than other endeavors currently being developed. At present, more writers are being sought, and production dates are being decided. Because of this, audiences may be able to see the film much sooner than they expected.
