Brain Versus Mind

When do you use ‘brain’ or ‘mind’?

‘Brain’ refers to the physical organ that is found inside your skull.
“He was lucky to escape the accident without a serious brain injury.”
“The disease affected her heart, lungs and brain.”

The word ‘mind’ cannot refer to the physical organ.
We use ‘mind’ to talk about the part of you that thinks and understands the world.
“In my mind, I see the world differently.”
“I had a lot on my mind today.”
