Thai Immigration Deports Three Russian Nationals

BANGKOK – Thai Immigration Police have deported to Moscow on Friday three Russian citizens detained in this country at the request of Interpol’s National Central Bureau in Russia, head of the Consular Department of the Russian Embassy in Thailand Vladimir Sosnov told reporters.
“Eldar Gasanguseinov, Ruslan Sibilev and Yevgeny Shalamov flew from Bangkok aboard a scheduled flight accompanied by Russian police officers,” the diplomat said.
Eldar Gasanguseynov, 29, a native of Derbent (Republic of Dagestan), was detained on Phuket Island in early November. In Russia, he is accused of “large-scale theft of property by fraud and abuse of confidence committed by an organized group.” In September 2014, a district court in Nizhny Novgorod, a city in the Volga region, issued a warrant for Gasanguseinov’s arrest, and in July he was put on the international wanted list.
The criminal case against Ruslan Sibilev is supervised by the Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee in the Kursk region (central Russia). He was charged in absentia with arbitrary violence entailing moderate bodily injuries.
Still another Russian national, Yevgeny Shalamov, has been charged in absentia with an attempt of illegal sale of narcotic drugs on a large scale. A court in Yekaterinburg, a city in the Urals region, has chosen remand in custody as a pre-trial measure for him. The police arrested Shalamov in Thailand’s resort city of Pattaya.

Meanwhile, A 35-year-old Russian woman was attacked and robbed of her iPhone 6s and some money in Thalang district of Phuket on Saturday morning.
Olga Shnyreva was riding a bicycle along Ban Tha Rua-Ban Koh Kaew Road in Srisoonthorn sub-district when two men on a motorcycle approached her and the driver kicked her bike. Ms Shnyreva fell off her bicycle and sustained scratches on her right elbow and shoulder.
The pillion rider snatched her iPhone worth 26,000 baht from the bicycle’s handlebars and fled the scene. The robbers also made off with 400 baht attached to the phone.
Ms Shnyreva told police that both of her assailants had tattoos on their faces.
The robbery took place on a two-lane road that cuts through rubber and oil palm plantations for dozens of kilometres, where the Russian woman had gone for some morning exercise.
Pol Lt Col Sanit Nookong, an investigator with the Thalang station, said officers would try to find and bring the robbers to justice quickly.
