CHIANG MAI – Police arrested a 51-year-old Swiss National, Niklaus Werner Baumgartner, and his girlfriend, Ratchanee Sakakura, 33, originally from Udon Thani, on drug charges Aug 10th.
According to City News the Chiang Mai police raided a room in an apartment in Hai Ya area after following tip-offs from informers that the foreigner and Thai women often took drugs in the room and made loud noise.
Police reported that suspects confessed that they bought drugs from a local tour guide in the area and will be charged with possession or a banned substance.
Niklaus Werner Baumgartner passport will be held until court proceedings.
