(CTN News) _ Authorities said that rapper PnB Rock was fatally shot in a robbery on Monday, according to reports.

Rakim Hasheem Allen, 30, was shot multiple times at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles in South Los Angeles.

The shooter approached him Monday afternoon at the restaurant, about 4.5 miles from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, and they argued.

Multiple items were taken by the suspect during the attack on PnB Rock, according to the officials. Apparently, the shooter fled in a vehicle; it is unclear if he was behind the wheel.

“This news is heavy on our hearts and we are all hurting over this senseless loss,” his label, Atlantic Records, said in a statement posted on Instagram.

Rakim Allen was more than an artist to many. He was also a wonderful father to two beautiful daughters, the label stated.

There was a statement on the website saying, “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”

About 1:20 p.m., rescuers responded to a shooting at the restaurant, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nick Prange.

According to Prange, the victim is an approximately 30-year-old man who was hospitalized in an unknown condition. In a later statement, Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Jeff Lee confirmed that the victim had died in a hospital.

“This is a homicide,” he said.

“I am saddened by the passing” of the PnB Rock rapper, who was killed by a senseless act of gun violence, said New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy.
