Man Arrested for Stealing Women’s Underwear from Laundromat in Chiang Mai

CHIANG MAI – Police in Chiang Mai city have arrested a 44 year-old Thai man after a woman reported to police that 10 pairs of her underwear were stolen from a laundromat in Tha Pae in Chang Wat Chiang Mai.

According to CityLife News, Police stated that after examining CCTV footage investigators found that at around 10pm a man wearing a T-shirt and shorts arrived by motorcycle and took the underwear from the laundering machine.

The suspect was tracked down and captured on Sri Phume Road the following day and arrested Mr. Niyom Sathan, 44, who admitted to the allegation and revealed his hiding spot where police found the stolen underwear.

He stated that he would use them for masturbation and this is not his first time he had committed such a crime.

After a background check, police found that he has been imprisoned twice for similar crimes.
