Chinese SIM Card Vendor Deported from Thailand
.
BANGKOK – Chinese businessman Su Su, who unknowingly provided a cell phone SIM card linked to a botched holdup at a gun shop in Bangkok late week has had his visa revoked and deported yesterday afternoon.
Immigration Police chief Pol Maj-General Natthorn Phrosunthorn said that although the investigation showed that Mr.Su, did not know about the heist, his behaviour was deemed to be a threat to national security.
Mr Su, 29, was arrested in Phuket on Saturday for supplying a telephone SIM card to one of the five suspects in the failed robbery at Inter Arms gun shop at Samyod Plaza in Bangkok’s Wang Burapha area last Friday.
Mr Su said earlier that he sold SIM cards to tour companies, which in turn distributed them to Chinese travellers in Thailand.
Natthorn said, the man was deported and banned from returning to Thailand indefinitely.
Mr. Su Su has no criminal record in either China or Thailand.
