The 28-year-old son of the late underworld figure George Freeman

Australia Adam Freeman fugitive has been extradited from Thailand to Sydney over an alleged gang of several million dollars.

The son of 28-year-old former Kings Cross identity George Freeman was delivered to the Embassy of Australia in Bangkok in June.

He arrived at Sydney airport around 6:00 am (GMT) today and was taken to Police Centre in Surry Hills Sydney to be charged with crimes on a large scale drug manufacturing.

Police say he is the sixth man charged by detectives attached to Strike Force Harrower.

The operation began after police seized almost 20 kilograms of ecstasy and the drug paraphernalia in a car in Quirindi, near Tamworth in north-western New South Wales, in December last year.

The drugs had an estimated value of over $ 3 million. Two men in the car, both 27, were charged. Three other men, one aged 26 and two aged 34, were charged after police raids followed.

Detectives say the operation continues. Freeman is expected to face court for the first time today.

Police Commissioner Andrew Scippione has defended the time taken from Freeman gives himself on his arrival in Sydney.

“The fact is that Mr. Freeman is in the country … It will appear in court today,” he said.
