Police and rescue workers sent to the scene reported Mr.Warzynski had slash wounds to his left wrist and there were no traces of a struggle in the house and his belongings remained untouched.

“There were empty alcohol bottles, a knife, scissors and water on the dining table, and cut marks on his arms that looked self inflicted,” said Lt Sunan Pechnoo of the Cherng Talay Police.
Police believed he had been dead at least one day before his body was discovered by a nearby resident.

Investigators said Warzynski had lived in the house for three years. He did not have a business in Thailand, but had income from rental buildings in Poland.

The man had a Thai girlfriend who had stayed with him for about six months but she broke off the relationship and left the house a few days previously.

Police speculated the man was upset, tried to slash his wrists and then hanged himself, according to the Phuket Gazette.

His body was sent to Thalang Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Authorities are contacting the Polish consulate so Mr. Warzynski relatives could be informed of his death.
