27 Year Old American Neftali Perez Falls to his Death in Udon Thani

UDON THANI – Police are investigating the death of American Neftali Perez who apparently fell from the fifth floor of an apartment building in Muang district of Udon Thani on Monday morning.
Pol Capt Samai Chaibuala from Udon Thani Provincial Police Station said Muang district and tourist police went to the location, which was opposite to Udon Thani Rajabhat University after being informed of the incident about 7am.
Upon their arrival they found the young American, identified as Neftali Perez, 27, lying dead on the cement surface at the back of the building. He was believed to have died about three hours earlier.
Police searched his room on the fifth floor and found bottles of liquor and water and his passport. Â There were no indications of violence.
Building staff said he checked in alone on March 10th and had spent most of the time in his room, occasionally with a Thai woman.
Col. Poomwit Wetkarma of Udon Thani city police said it was possible he had been drinking alone, walked to the balcony and accidentally fallen over the railing.
However, investigators had not ruled out the possibility he was murdered.
Police are still looking for the girlfriend, Poomwit told the Khaosod by telephone Monday morning.
