CHIANGRAI TIMES – A court in Thailand on Tuesday sentenced a British man to 21 years in prison for the rape of three underage girls who had been forced to have sex with him by the mother of one of the victims.
Stuart Hargreaves Lloyd, 45, was convicted of having sex with the girls between 2004 and Aug 2010 in hotels in the capital Bangkok and the Thai beach resort of Pattaya.
The victims, who were all under 15 at the time, gave evidence that they were forced to having sex with Lloyd.
A, 50 year old woman Tim Wongsiri was also handed a 41-year jail term to a woman for procuring three girls under 15, including her own daughter, for sexual relations with an expat man in exchange for money on several occasions between 2008 to August 2010.
The court was told that Tim Wongsiri, 50, had procured and forced two girls, who were under 15, and her own daughter who was under 13, into having sex with 45-year-old Briton, Stuart Hargreaves Lloyd.
Police said that Lloyd had raped the girls in Din Daeng, Hua Lamphong, Sukhumvit and Pattaya.
Both defendants have denied the charges, though Tim’s daughter and the other girls have provided verifiable details of the venues, times and payments.
Tim’s daughter told psychologists that her mother, who was previously a prostitute, had threatened to stop sending her to school if she and the other two girls refused to have sex with customers.
The court rejected Tim’s defence that her ex-husband had forced their daughter to wrongfully accuse her.
