Italian Tourists Falls to His Death a Bangkok Shopping Mall

BANGKOK – Pol Capt Noppha Thongbar has told Thai Media that at approximately 3:00PM on Saturday Police and rescue members were called to Bangkok’s Terminal 21 shopping mall after a 44 year-old Italian Tourist jumped from an escalator going from the sixth to the fifth floor.

He fell in full view of shoppers in the central atrium on the ground floor, where later a tent was erected around the body.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the Italian man coming down the escalators from the sixth to the fifth floor when he decided to jump. He was later identified as 44 year old Federico Maistrello from Italy.

Thai Rath reported that he was simply dressed and is reported to have had a gold ring on his ring finger on the left hand, his passport, an air-ticket, a key, loose tobacco and roller, chewing gum and Lorazepam tablets.

Lorazepam is used to treat psychiatric disorders such as anxiety. It is also used to treat insomnia.

Pol Capt Noppha Thongbar said that the authorities had contacted the Italian embassy
