Stefan Heiner Volki reportedly jumped to his death

PATTAYA – German tourist Stefan Heiner Volki apparently  jumped to his death from the 56th floor of the Pattaya Park Tower in Jomtien. The 39-year-old man was scheduled to return to his wife in Germany the day after his fatal fall which was witnessed by a security guard.

Witnesses said the deceased man’s body “exploded” on impact upon landing on the fifth floor of the hotel. His pocket contained a key to his room at the Nova Gold Hotel Pattaya and a note asking that his mother be notified to take his remains to Germany.

Police did not learn the man’s identity until they later searched his room. Staff at his hotel said Volki had checked in Nov. 6 and was scheduled to check out the day after his apparent suicide?

Investigations continue, and the German embassy has been informed.
