Fugitive Australian Drug Kingpin Robert Gee Nabbed in Phuket, Thailand

PHUKET – Tourist Police and Phuket Crime Suppression officers, have arrested Australian fugitive Robert Gordon Pollybank Gee, 58, was arrested on an arrest warrant issued in Australia on July 4, 2012, for drug-possession charges.

Phuket Tourist Police and Phuket Crime Suppression officers, working with the Australian Federal Police (AFP), moved in and arrested Robert Gordon Pollybank Gee at Bar Funk, opposite the Tiger Pub bar complex on Bangla Rd, at 11pm, the Phuket News Reported.

Phuket Crime Suppression officers also confiscated a fake Canadian passport Gee had been using identified him as Roy Greyeyes from Saskatchewan, Canada.

Gee was allegedly the ring leader of an Australia-wide drug network that was instrumental in the sale and supply of illicit drugs across a number of states of Australia.

Gee’s bail was revoked on July 8, 2011 when he failed to attend a pre-trial hearing in the District Court. His then lawyer, Jon Lister, told the court he had not spoken to Gee prior to that hearing and did not know his whereabouts.

He reportedly admitted fleeing Australia in 2011 and entered Thailand via boat without going through the Thai Immigration Police’s process. He said he bought the fake passport in 2013, but refused to tell authorities who he obtained it from.

The Police have charged him with illegal entry into the Kingdom and possession of a counterfeit passport, he was taken to Patpong Police station to be questioned further by Thai and Australian Authorities.
