PATTAYA — Pol Lt Nakhonrat Nonseelad of Pattaya Police Station has reported that 79 year-old,Finnish National Mr Kilvonen Unto Ilmari, was found dead after he plumited to his deaht from the 18-storey Angket Condominium near Jomtien Beach.

Mr Kilvonen Unto Ilmari, who reportedly lived on the fourth floor of the Angket Condominium, left a note for a friend in Swedish before going up to the 10th floor to jump from a hallway balcony, according to Lt. Nakornrat Nonsilad.

“Have a good one,” it concluded.

Police went to the 10th floor and found a damaged slide window to a balcony. There were no signs of a struggle either on the 10th floor nor inside the room itself.

An initial investigation revealed Mr Ilmari had lived alone in the condominium room for about 10 years.

His Swedish friend said that had suffered chronic illnesses and that earlier in the week, he was rushed to a hospital after suffering head injuries from a fall inside his room.

He often complained to his friends that he did not want to live anymore.Police believes stress from poor health might have driven Mr Ilmari to commit suicide.

His body was being sent to  Police General Hospital’s Forensic Medicine Institute in Bangkok for a post-mortem examination and to notify the Finnish embassy.
