CHIANG MAI – Police are seeking the whereabouts of British National Simon Wellings after his Mercedes Benz car hit a pickup on the Chang Mai – Chiang Rai highway, killing two women and injuring a driver of a third vehicle.

When Police arrived at the scene in Chiang Mai’s San Sai district to find an Isuzu pickup truck overturned on the road, while the Mercedes-Benz was in a ditch on the roadside.

According to CityNews Police suspect Simon Wellings was behind the wheel of the Mercedes Benz after searching the vehicle, finding a notebook computer and a passport belonging to Simon Wellings.

Police believe that Wellings was driving his car at considerable speed before hitting the back of the pickup, killing two women and crashing into a ditch. He then fled the scene.

Police are trying to track down Wellings, who they believe must have suffered injuries from the crash and is probably in a state of shock.
