CHON BURI – Thailand’s Immigration police on Thursday arrested two foreign Nationals, Russian, Dennis Zabodev, 31 and a Briton, Allan Henry Paulson, 45 and charged them with extorting money and assets from a French factory owner in Bang Lamung district.

Pattaya Immigration Police were acting on a complaint filed by businessman Thierry Laurent Emmanuel, 51, who operates a Halal food trading factory, local media quoted provincial immigration office chief Pol Col Prapansak Prasarnsook as saying.

Mr Emmanuel accused the suspects and two unidentified foreign men of raiding the factory in the Aekmongkol housing estate in tambon Nong Prue earlier this month and robbing him of 50,000 baht worth of valuables and food-producing items.

The four men then forced him to take them to his serviced apartment in Thepprasit Soi 7 and made off with two MacBooks worth around 50,000 baht and a mobile phone.

Mr Emmanuel said the men threatened to harm his family, and so he had to transfer 15,000  baht to Mr Zabodev’s bank account.

Pol Col Prapansak said arrest warrants were issued after police saw the profiles of Mr Sabodev and Mr Paulson on CCTV cameras at Mr Emmanuel’s apartment.

He said police are gathering evidence to seek warrants for the other two suspects.
