British Woman Killed in Phuket Cycle Crash, Rebecca Leanne Shaw

PHUKET – Authorities in Phuket have reported that the British woman who was killed in a horror motorcycle crash on the holiday island of Phuket in southern Thailand was 32-year-old Rebecca Leanne Shaw.

Rebbecca was killed after the motor scooter she was riding on with 55-year-old Julie Anita Maria Robinson was hit by a Toyota pick-up truck slammed into the two women on their motor bike as they exited a small soi (road) onto the main road.

The woman believed to have been in control of the motor bike when it was hit by a pick-up truck has been named as 55-year-old Julie Anita Maria Robinson, who suffered minor injuries and has since been released from hospital.

Police descended on the scene (above) and the 32-year-old was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

After being pronounced dead at the Patong Hospital, her body was transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital to determine the cause of death.
