PHUKET – An Australian tourist Adam Sahyoun was found dead today on the floor of his rooms at the Happy Cottages in southern Phuket.

Adam Sahyoun, aged 31, was discovered on the floor in the living room about 4.45pm. He was dressed in a pair of shorts. About AU$3000 in cash were discovered among his possessions.

Adam Sahyoun had arrived on Phuket on July 5 and was due to leave on August 5, according to the staff at the Happy Cottages.

Paramedics estimated he had been dead for about eight hours. There appeared to be no signs of violence, according to officers at Chalong Police Station.

His body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket City. Australian Embassy officials have been notified.
