The body of Australian Jennifer Laidley was found on Karon Beach

An Australian woman who drowned in Thailand this week has been described as a generous friend and someone who will be sorely missed. Jennifer’s body is thrown into a beach in Phuket yesterday, confirming the worst fears of his family and the rescuers. The nurse of 44 years, Canberra had been missing since Monday night when he was swimming at the beach in Karon, which is famous for strong starts. Her friend, Lisa Crosland says seeing her body on the sand was traumatic.

“It was horrible having to watch and I hope I never have to go through something like that again. It’s something you do not wish on your worst enemy,” he said.

Ms. Laidley grew up in Queanbeyan, but lives in Macarthur, on the spot. She is married and has a sister and a brother. His family has lived in Queanbeyan all his life and his mother worked in a bakery Monaro Street. His father died in 2009 Robert Laidley.

The couple, who were on holiday together, made an impulsive decision to go swimming after a seafood dinner and some drinks.

Ms. Crosland remained near the coastline, while Ms. Laidley made a bath fatal beyond the waves. Ms. Crosland says his friend will be sorely missed. “I remember Jenny as a very happy, excitable child,” he said.

“She was one of my very good friends. I’ve known for 20 years and she has always been there for me as a shoulder to mourn.’s A huge tragedy.”

A search for Royal Thai Navy, the Marine Police and emergency workers began on Tuesday morning, but it was useless.

Ms. Crosland has criticized the search team for being too slow to respond, with planes and badly told that he had discovered the body of Mrs. Laidley before. She says to leave Thailand, marks the end of a horrible ordeal.

“I was dying to get out of Phuket. I landed on Australian soil this morning and I began to mourn because I am very grateful to be home,” he said. Ms. Crosland will meet with Ms. Laidley family to discuss funeral arrangements.

The ACT Health Department has provided guidance, care and support staff who worked with Ms. Laidley at Canberra Hospital.
