Americans Arrested in Chiang Mai for Vandalism and “Drunk and Disorderly”

CHIANG MAI – Two Americans were reported for vandalism while in Chiang Mai’s Chang Klan district after breaking off the side mirror of vehicles in a drunken stupor.

Chang Klan district Police reported that a 41 year old woman made a complaint after she parked her car on the roadside to grab some food from a vendor with her partner. When they returned to the car, the side mirror was damaged and stolen.

Police also received another report which occurred about 50 meters from the previous one.

Upon a search two 25 year old Americans were spotted nearby who appeared to have been drinking excessively, police also found the vehicle side mirrors in their possession.

The two men reportedly did not cooperate with the arrest and police had to wait until they sobered up to pursue any prosecution. They were charged with vandalism and “drunk and disorderly”

The two drunk Americans were named as Mr. Nikolai Ivanovit, 25 and Mr. Preston Seriris, also 25 (both names transliterated from Thai).
