PHNOM PENH – The body of American National William Glenn was found bound, wrapped in a curtain and dumped in a trash heap in Phnom Penh’s Por Sen Chey district early this morning.

At about 5 a.m., a 12-year-old boy found William Glenn, a 44-year-old English teacher, wrapped in a yellow curtain fastened with duct tape. Police said his body had bruises consistent with a beating and strangulation.

You Ma, from Phnom Penh Municipal Police’s toxicology department, later identified the victim as 44-year-old US national William Glenn from Mississippi.

Khim Sarann, police chief for Por Sen Chey district, confirmed the case is being treated as a murder.

“We will investigate to find the killer,” he said.

One witness who saw the body before police arrived said the wrists and ankles appeared to have been tied with shoe laces.

In the mortuary at Stung Meanchey pagoda, Post reporters saw what appeared to be heavy bruising on the man’s chest and neck area.

The US Embassy in Phnom Penh declined to comment.
