CHON BURI – A 62-year-old Swedish National Sten Lundholm was found dead with his head in a bucket of water and bruising on his body at a condominium room in Pattaya beach city in the early hours of Wednesday.
Sten Lundholm was found in his room on the 10th floor of a condominium building in tambon Nong Phrue of Bang Lamung district, said Pol Lt Temtrong Rodsiri, the leading investigator in this caseÂ toldthe Bangkok Post.
Pol Lt Temtrong Rodsirisaid his death was reported about 12.30am by Miss Waewmanee Luengkrathok 26.
Police and an emergency crew sent to the scene Â found the Swede slumped in the bathroom with his head in a bucket of water and a golf bag across the back of his neck.
Police said there were bruises on his body and he was believed to have died at least 5-6 hours before his body was discovered.
Their was aÂ handwritten letter was found on a desk near his bed addressed to whoever found his body, asking them to inform his family in Sweden via a given contact number.
Waewmanee Luengkrathok,Â who alerted police, said Lundholm came to her shop every night to have a few drinks. When he did not come to her shop on Tuesday night, she became worried. Â She later went to the condominium and asked a security guard there to check his room.
They knocked on the door room several times, but nobody answered. A spare key was later used to enter the room and they found his body in the bathroom.
Police told Pattaya One they learned that the deceased Swede was under stress from financial problems and are convinced that this was a suicide using the golf club bag to push his head down into the filled water bucket.
Lundholm’s body was to be sent to the Police General Hospitalâ€™s Institute of Forensic Medicine for a post-mortem examination. Police said they are now treating the case as a suicide.
