BANGKOK – Thai Police in Bangkok’s Wattana district have reported that Japanese National Taro Okada was found dead in a well-known Japanese restaurant on Sukhumvit Road (Ekamai Soi 4) in Bangkok.
Pol Lt Piyawit Thongdet, said Taro Okada, aged 37, was found hanging by an electric cable from the mens room door of Sasaou Restaurant. There were no wounds on the man’s body or signs of a struggle
Pol Lt Piyawit said they found a note that was handwritten in Japanese and suggested that the Japanese man was conned by a Thai woman who absconded with all his money.
Taro Okada’s father told police investigators that his son had had a fierce argument with the woman who owned a restaurant in Thonglor, his son then secluded himself in a room before he was found dead.
Police have initially concluded that Mr.Okada committed suicide., his body will be sent for post-mortem examination at a local hospital.
Meanwhile, A suspect in the murder of Japanese teacher Yoshinori Shimato has confessed to suffocating another Japanese man to death 11 years ago, according to police.
Both men had been married to Mr Somchai’s current girlfriend, Pornchanok Chaiyapa, his co-accused in the Shimato slaying.
Somchai Kaewbangyang was taken on Saturday to a four-storey building containing two shophouses on Bang Na-Trat Highway in Bang Phli district to re-enact the 2003 slaying of Kasitosi Tanaka.
