Chiang Rai Welcomes New Governor and Red Cross Chapter President

CHIANG RAI – On Monday, officials, business leaders and residents in Chiang Rai welcomed Mr Rattaphon Naradisorn, the 56th Governor of Chiang Rai Province, and Mrs Wiyada Naradisorn, President of the Red Cross Chapter. The pair travelled from Phayao in the morning.

They began the day with ceremonies to pay respect at key city landmarks. These included the King Mengrai the Great Monument, the City Navel Pillar at Wat Phra That Doi Chom Thong, and the stupa of King Mengrai at Wat Doi Ngam Mueang.

They also paid homage at the statue of King Rama V at the first provincial hall, then offered respects to the guardian spirits and Buddha images at the governor’s residence. The rites marked an auspicious start to their duties.

 

Mr Rattaphon holds a Bachelor of Laws from Payap University, class of 1994, and a Master of Political Science from Chiang Mai University, class of 2002. He has completed several executive programmes, including the District Chief Officer Course, Senior Executive Administrator Course, High-level Justice Administration Course, High-level Budget Administration Course, Senior Executive Programme for agency heads, and the National Defence College, class 65.

Mr Rattaphon’s previous roles include Head of the Tak Provincial Office, Director of the Inspection and Complaints Bureau at the Ministry of Interior, Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai, Deputy Governor of Phrae, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, and Governor of Phayao.
