United States Ambassador Glyn T Davies Visits Chiang Rai Before Finishing his Term in Thailand
CHIANG RAI – United States Ambassador to Thailand Glyn T Davies paid a visit to Chiang Rai province before finishing his term in this country and thanked all sides for their support for the rescue operations at Tham Luang cave.
Deputy Governor of Chiang Rai Pasakorn Boonyaluk welcomed the outgoing U.S. ambassador for his visit to the northern province before leaving his post in Bangkok.
The American diplomat thanked government agencies, private firms, and the general public in Chiang Rai who had provided their support to members of the United States Pacific Command in the operations to rescue Wild Boar soccer players from the cave.
He also visited Wat Rong Khun temple to see The Heroes painting and a statue of Saman Gunan, a former Thai Navy SEAL who died during the operation. His visit was accompanied by Thai national artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, who led the U.S. envoy in a tour of the temple.
